These families are traced from before their immigration to America, to their eventual settlement in Oklahoma Territory. First-hand knowledge, diaries, and letters breathe life into their journey. With benefit of today's technical communication methods--internet and e-mail, the author was able to trace many ancestors, some as far back as the 8th century. Dorothy's dream was to discover how and where her ancestors lived. She wanted her descendants to be able to know and appreciate them. Often military threat and religious persecution gave these pioneers the impetus to leave home and family, in search of land they could call their own. The decision was not easy, for in the New World they would face many hardships. Your ancestors had this same dream of freedom and security when they settled in America. Whatever their names, this book is their journey too. Crossroads: A Journey through Time includes over 200 photos, as well as maps, lifestyles, inventions, early trails and roads. The documentation of the Coffelt line to royalty is found through JT Koelling's mother, Ethel Coffelt. This recent discovery was a big surprise and very interesting to the author. But the story does not dwell only in ancient history. It also traces the path of a very insecure young housewife of the 1930s, who, through a lifetime of learning, has reached a pinnacle of success as a sculptor. Among her other works, Dorothy Koelling has created six bronze monuments that stand on public property in Wichita, Kansas. She credits much of her success to the traits handed down from her ancestors: determination and inspiration, ingenuity and resourcefulness, and most of all, faith. contact info order form olddot@mailstation.com
